John M. Novohradsky, 53, of Queensbury, who volunteers with the Queensbury Central Fire Co., was arrested Thursday by state police on numerous charges following an investigation, state police said.

A former Buchanan Fire chief, Novohradsky used Snapchat to send a naked picture of himself to the victim last month, then on a separate occasion, fondled the victim's genitals, said Trooper Mark J. Cepiel.

Novohradsky, who is employed as a senior application engineer with Intergraph Corp., according to LinkedIn, knew the teenage victim through the community, state police said.

The former Buchanan Fire chief who moved to Queensbury about eight years ago, remains a life member of Buchanan Engine Co. 1, according to LinkedIn.

Before moving, Novohradsky worked as a dispatcher and technology coordinator for the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services for more than 18 years, his LinkedIn page said.

Novohradsky was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and was released without bail, Cepiel said. He is due to appear in court Feb. 26.
